What does a compensator on its own accomplish on an air gun?

Air gun compensators (or recoil compensators) do two things: they reduce the amount of recoil that you feel when you shoot, and they help to keep the gun barrel pointed straight down the sights when you’re firing.
Recoil compensators work by redirecting some of the gases that are released when the bullet is fired. By doing this, they reduce the amount of recoil that is transmitted to your body. This makes shooting your air gun a lot more comfortable, and it also helps to keep the barrel pointed in the right direction so that you can continue to hit your target.
