How difficult is that to putting the bolt and charging handle back in? Thanks!
There are a few things to keep in mind when installing a bolt carrier group (BCG) and charging handle into your AR-15 rifle. First, make sure that the firearm is unloaded and all ammunition is removed from the area. Next, visually inspect the BCG and charging handle to ensure there are no damages or defects. Once you have confirmed that everything is in good working order, you can begin the installation process.
To start, insert the charging handle into the upper receiver from the rear until it Stops pressing and fits within receiver extension secondarily locking lug recess This will be felt as a), increased pressure against your fingers when attempting to press further or b), resistance plate in contact with forwarding assist assembly if present Note: if your assembly has a dust cover, ensure that it is in the open position.
With the charging handle locked into place, insert the Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) into the upper receiver from the rear until it is seated against the charging handle. Make sure that the Bolt Carrier Group is properly aligned with the gas key on the upper receiver. Once everything is lined up, you can push the BCG forward until it is fully seated.
You will know that the BCG is properly installed when the Bolt Carrier Group Key is flush with or slightly below the top of the upper receiver. If the key is not flush or if there is any gap between the two, then the BCG is not properly installed.
Once the BCG is properly installed, you can re-install the dust cover (if applicable) and charge the rifle. Be sure to test-fire the rifle in a safe area to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.
