I want to make DIY custom one-piece grips cast with resin. Any suggestions?
There are a few ways to make resin grips for handguns. You can use a two-part epoxy resin, or you can use a UV-curing resin.
For the two-part epoxy resin, you will need a mixing container, stirring sticks, and respirator masks. The epoxy resin is mixed in a 1:1 ratio, so you will need equal amounts of the resin and hardener. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully, as there may be specific steps that need to be followed.
To use the UV-curing resin, you will need a UV light source. The resin is mixed in a 2:1 ratio, so you will need twice as much of the resin as you do of the hardener. Again, be sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
Once you have mixed the resin, you will need to pour it into the mold. Be sure to tap the mold lightly so that any air bubbles can rise to the surface.
Then, cure the resin according to the instructions. Once it is cured, you can remove the grips from the mold.
