There are a few different types of choke tubes that are designed for duck hunting, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. The most popular types of choke tubes for duck hunting are Full, Modified, and Improved cylinders.
Full choke is the most constrictive type of choke, and consequently, it produces the tightest shot pattern. This makes it ideal for long-range shots, as there will be fewer pellets spread out over the target. However, because the shot pattern is so tight, it can make hitting a moving target at close range more difficult.
Modified choke is less constrictive than Full choke, which gives it a bit more flexibility in terms of shot patterns. It can be used for both long-range and close-range shots, although it will be less effective than Full choke at long range and more effective than Full choke at close range.
Improved Cylinder is the least constrictive type of choke, and as a result, it produces the widest shot pattern. This makes it ideal for close-range shots, as there will be more pellets that have a chance of hitting the target. However, because the shot pattern is so wide, it can make hitting a moving target at long range more difficult.
