Are pistol grip rifles illegal in California? What is “California compliant” in regards to a pistol grip?

To comply with California’s pistol grip flair regulations, guns must have a pistol grip that is not more than 2 inches wide, and a magazine capacity not exceeding 10 rounds. Additionally, the gun must be equipped with a device that allows the operator to control the rate of fire, such as a variable speed trigger or similar mechanism.
